This recipe will be easy to prepare at home or in the classroom.

Serves 8-10

September is a great month for salads. It’s still hot enough not to want to do a lot of baking and hot meal preparation. This recipe is a yummy salad dressing that’s good enough to dip in a slice of sourdough bread besides putting it over the salad greens of your choice.

INGREDIENTS:

4 ounces mashed blue cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 clove garlic peeled and mashed

1-ounce salad oil

1-teaspoon salt

1/8 cup lemon juice

2 cups mayonnaise

2 cups sour cream

EQUIPMENT:

Glass bowl

Wooden spoon

Measuring cups and spoons

Plastic wrap

  1. Mix first seven ingredients in bowl. Add mayonnaise and sour cream, mix well.
  2. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  3. Best flavor after several hours of being chilled. Can make the day before using.
  4. Excellent on any green salad, especially with croutons on top.
