CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

     This smooth and delectable frosting is so versatile. You can flavor it chocolate, leave as is, sprinkle in lemon zest, orange zest, add berry jam, or mix in nuts. It’s great frosted over cakes or cupcakes for birthdays, weddings, and other celebratory events.

     Ingredients: 

1 8-ounce cream cheese 

1-cup butter (softened) 

1 box powdered sugar 

1-teaspoon vanilla extract 

Dash of salt 

Equipment: 

Electric mixer 

Rubber spatula 

Mixing bowl 

Measuring spoons 

What to do; 

1.     Place cheese and butter in mixing bowl and cream together with beaters.

2.     Add sugar, vanilla, salt and mix until well blended and very smooth.

3.     Can be flavored chocolate by mixing in cocoa, a teaspoon at a time, until reaching the desired flavor or darkness.

4.     Other flavors may be added, depending on cake of choice.

5.     This recipe will frost an 8 or 9-inch two-layered cake, a 13x9 sheet cake, or 24 cupcakes.
